English Original

The primary structure consists of eight arches that intersect at right angles to one another to provide a clear span over the main hall.  Inverted arches combine with the primary members to provide support to the Banqueting Hall that ‘floats’ above the main plaza level.  These primary arch members inform the whole structure and frame the vertical circulation spaces within the building.  Floor beams at each level line through with the primary arches and provide support to the floor slabs.  Each floor slab consists of a pre-stressed concrete inverted ‘T’ beam with a composite pre-cast concrete slab capable of spanning up to 30 metres between the primary structural elements.
